Senior 2011: Laura!

A little edit from my first comment on this.  Our beautiful Laura is graduating this next weekend!  We had such a good time shooting this senior portrait session.  She’s our first student from Young American’s Christian School here in Conyers, but I got to meet some of the other girls when they came at the end of the shoot.  It was so fun!

Taylor: Senior 2011

This week, we went out to Black Shoals Park on the north side of Rockdale to shoot Taylor’s senior pictures.  She’s a member of the JROTC as well as a cheerleader, and the park has a pretty fantastic military memorial that we thought would be great for some of her portraits.  She was easy to shoot too- just seemed to be a natural in front of the camera.  I love how senior pictures can not just be portraits, but can say something different about each person. Congratulations Taylor!  We hope you have a great senior year!

Ben’s Senior Pictures

We had the pleasure of driving all over Atlanta to shoot Ben’s senior pictures this week.  We wanted to do something a little more urban for him, so we went down to the Old Fourth Ward and shot this composite at 54 Pillars, a modern art piece of literally 54 random cement pillars sticking up at different heights.  We also shot some in the outdoor dining area of Across the Street, a mexican restaurant on Highland Ave.  I thought they might not like our using their colorful chairs as a backdrop, but they actually came out and brought us a free coke.  Yay!  We just had such a good time shooting Ben’s senior pictures.  Thanks Ben- and we hope for all the best during your last year of high school!

Senior 2011! Nathan

We shot our first senior of the 2010-2011 year- Nathan!  Senior pictures are one of my favorite things to shoot, and I’m excited for this next year of kids.  This is the first year that students that Jonathan taught are seniors.

We had such a good time shooting this out at this awesome house here in Conyers. Nathan brought his guitar and his truck and we shot a ton of pictures.  It was hard to pick our favorites of the set, stay tuned for more!  We’ll be using some from this shoot for future marketing!

Angelina

Angelina's Portraits

We got to go on vacation with the whole Cipolla family this week!  We were down in Orlando for a week, and all the kids had so much fun.  While we were there, we shot some portraits of Angelina.  She had won an award for something (cause that’s what kind of outstanding person she is), and needed a picture.  I can’t believe that this beautiful girl is already a junior in high school.  When I met her, she was only 11!

Tyler

We had the opportunity to shoot some pictures of Tyler today.  I love the red fence.  We also shot some passport pictures (not interesting enough to post), because he and his grandmother will be traveling to Peru soon.  How cool!

Heritage High Soccer

We had the pleasure of getting to photograph the Heritage High School soccer team on the night that they celebrated their graduating seniors here in Conyers.  It was fun to watch the games!  We have the pictures p0sted in a gallery in the portraits section of our website www.rebeccacipollaphotography.com.  Click on the “proofing” tab and enter the password “soccer” to view all the pictures.  Way to go girls, creaming the competition!

Kickin it.

Senior being recognized.

Keeping an eye out for the competition.

The Fraser Boys

I got to take senior pictures this week of the Fraser boys.  We had a good time, shooting these pictures out at the Davidson-Arabia Mountain Preserve in Dekalb.  Hopefully, I didn’t drive them crazy by mixing up their names- but they were good sports about the whole thing.  It was interesting to hear about their plans as they go on to college next year.  I didn’t know if identical twins would choose to go to the same place, but these guys are even choosing to room together.  It’s refreshing to see brothers also be such good friends.

We had a great time out in Old Town Conyers shooting these pictures with some crazy fun girls.  Our friend Taylor wanted to get together to practice shooting portraits.  So she rounded up a group of models, we spent the afternoon running around old town with cameras and umbrellas in tow.  Her are a couple of my favorites from the shoot.  I’m always amazed by what new places we find in Conyers.  I thought I had exhausted Old Town of its photo possibilities, but here we found that we had just scratched the surface.  Just walk down an alley and you’ll find a new nook or stairway or fence line.  And while some of the girls waited for their turn to strike a pose, they grabbed some ice cream at the soda fountain pharmacy.

Brian

This week we shot some senior pictures of Brian at LaGrange College in Lagrange.  It’s such a beautiful campus, and in spite of the cold, we had a great shoot.  When I heard that he wanted to do some with the piano, I was so excited.  It was a chance to do some lighting work that I hadn’t done before.  I like it when we can do some interesting things that really highlight something unique to the person we’re photographing.
